In modern industry, belt conveyor has been widely used in many fields of modern life as a kind of bulk material handling equipment. Its structure is relatively simple, and it has a wide range of transmission capacity. The adaptability of its transmission line is strong. The reliability and security is relatively high. The energy consumption is low, and it’s easy to achieve automated control. Belt conveyor can realize continuous transportation under the condition of continuous bearing. Driving device is the power component of belt conveyor system, so its design affects rationality and reliability of safe, stable and reliable operation of belt conveyor.If starting improperly, it will affect the stability and reliability of all components of belt conveyor systems in the starting process of belt conveyor. In order to improve the operational performance and the ability of conveyor transport, we should try to reduce the belt conveying tension and changes of tension in conveyor belt, and choose a more reasonable starting curve.In this article, based on the dynamic characteristics of belt conveyor studied and analyzed, choose the most ideal starting curve to meet a smooth starting of belt conveyor. By comparing the advantages and disadvantages common of driving devices of belt conveyor, proposes a design program, that is a new kind of hydraulic driving system for belt conveyor. This article describes the main components of hydraulic driving system, designs the hydraulic drive system to control the starting process of belt conveyor, and the basic principles of this system as well as its characteristics are analyzed. According to establish hydraulic driving system of belt conveyor, the main calculation of hydraulic system components is calculated and selected. A simulation model is established for the dynamic characteristic of system simulation by using AMESim software,and the simulation results are analyzed. The simulation results show that the hydraulic driving system has a good effect for a smooth starting of belt conveyor,so belt conveyors can achieve control intelligently. And the small impact ofstarting can satisfy requirement of belt conveyor driving performance.
