With the rapid development of modern logistics industry, electric forklift as the mainstay of material handling are growing demand. At present, the power batteries of electric forklifts mainly are lead-acid batteries or lithium batteries which have several shortcomings in the aspects of environmental protection, power and work efficiency. Through the characteristic analysis of lithium titanate battery, the research direction is established that replacing original battery with lithium titanate battery as the power battery of the new energy forklift. The travel system and charging device of electric forklift are the main objects in this study, as appearance design and hydraulic lifting technology of electric forklifts have been very mature.Combined with the actual working conditions and the use environment of the forklift, the feasibility is analyzed that the lithium titanate battery as power battery for a 3T balance weight type electric forklift design basis. Firstly, selection and parameters of the main components of the travel system have been completed, and by using the software of ADVISOR, simulation of the vehicle dynamic performance has been carried out. Secondly, particularity of lithium titanate forklift charging mode, design indexes for the charging device is get by analyzing charging forms of the electric vehicles, and the structure design and the 3D model of the charging device have been completed. Finally, the feasibility and rationality of the design scheme for the charging device has been verified, through the analysis of dynamics simulation about the electric forklift and charging device by the using of ADAMS software.This paper completed the key technology research and simulation of the lithium titanate electric forklift, to verify the feasibility of the lithium titanate battery as the power battery of forklift, which provides the technical support for the research and development of new electric forklift and theoretical basis.
