With the development of Chinese economy and the acceleration of urbanization, the non-road vehicle industry has developed rapidly.Non-road vehicle industry is now facing the greatest challenge of emission reduction. There is a huge number of traditional diesel forklifts in our country, which are widely applied in factory.Because of the frequent changes of operating and loading conditions, and the unsupervised state for the forklift emission,it is vital to study the optimization of internal combustion forklift powertrain matching under the constraint of exhaust emission. In this paper,a basic type forklift with non-road China?standard diesel engine was considered as the object of research.CRUISE is used to build the forklift model and simulate dynamic performance, fuel economy and emission performance of the test forklift. Then the dynamic performance was tested according to the regulation. And using PEMS?Portable Emission Measurement System?to measure fuel economy and emission performance of the test forklift under real-world operating conditions?VDI2198?.The model was validated by the comparison between the simulation and the test results.Redesign the parameters of torque converter, gearbox, final drive and hub reduction gear according to the existing conditions. Then established a synthesized evaluation system under the constraint of exhaust emission, and introduced Analytic Hierarchy Process to make sure the weight coefficient of all evaluation indices.Using the established evaluation system to evaluate the results of simulation and choose the best matching combination.Simulation results show that the new matching scheme is much better than original internal-combustion forklift in NOX exhaust emissions,CO exhaust emissions and CO2exhaust emissions, while climbing performance and acceleration performance are reduced slightly, maximum velocity improved significantly, fuel economy improve slightly. Thus the purpose to reduce exhaust emission by matching powertrain is accomplished. This study provides a theoretical guidance for the further powertrain matching of internal combustion forklift, and a reference for the supervision of forklift.
