| During the peak time and the bad weather, it is difficult to take a taxi for the passenger, but it is also difficult to make money for the driver, what’s worse, the illegal taxi robs their business, then, the government spends a lot of money to support the legal taxi. All of those phenomena are the real taxi operating status in many cities of our country. Even the taxi-pooling emerged at a historic moment also has some problems, for example, the price is unified, unreasonable and opaque, what’s worse, the taxi-pooling is difficult to manage and even be banned in many cities. Even though the taxi-pooling is allowed in some cities, but it is not standardized and difficult to manage. But, if the taxi-pooling is reasonable and legal, the taxi will take more passengers under the same passenger capacity, the vehicle emissions and the pollution also can be reduced, which is beneficial to protect the environment, and relieves the problem of taking taxi difficult in the urban. What’s more, the government, the taxi driver and the passenger will benefit from the taxi-pooling process. Therefore, a kind of taxi-pooling system is proposed and built in this paper. This system has two parts, including the inspection and management system used by the government and the taxi department, as well as the pooling taximeter system installed on the taxi. This system is not only compatible with the existing taximeter, but also has the function of pooling taximeter, controlling the displaying and the alarming, the illegal taxi identification, collecting, querying managing and setting the recorded information and so on. This system supplies the technical support for the scientific management and operations of the taxi-pooling.ARM9 32-bit microprocessor has been used as the core of hardware and Windows CE embedded operating system has been used as the supporting platform for the operation apps in this system Design graphical user interface (GUI) by MFC, and the detection, procession and conversion of information have been achieved by STC15W 8-bit microcontroller. This system mainly includes four modules following this, the pooling taximeter, the displaying and alarming controller, the illegal taxi recognizer, the device for collecting, searching, supervising and setting recorded information. The RS485 and RS232 communication technologies have been used in the module, and the RFID wireless communication technology has been used between each modules. The pooling taximeter is installed in the driver operationpanel in the taxi, according to the parameters of billing and preference which have been set by the taxi department, it can charge for four passengers preferentially at the same time, reflecting the principle of more passengers more discount and more income to driver. The charge of taxi-pooling is transparent and open, and the GUI of pooling taximeter shows the travel information and the function keys to four passengers that includes the route, the wait-time, the originalbill and the discounted bill, and can perform the operations of one-way, running, waiting, printing, pausing and special car for every passenger. Every passenger’s travel information can be printed and saved respectively. In case the driver is so avaricious that the passenger’s travel is delayed, this system has the function of automatic lock. The displaying and alarming controller is installed in the taxi driving position, through the RS485 communication, it controls the forward LED screen installed on the taxi’s top to display the information, such as the travel direction and how much persons the taxi can take, which is convenient to choose the right taxi to pool for the passengers according to their own needs. Furthermore, when the taxi was robbed the forward LED screen and the alarming light will be controlled to send alarming message, so that the traveler can help the driver to call the police, which can avoid the shortcomings of the existing GPS alarm system that it is difficult to confirm the alarm message. The illegal taxi recognizer is installed in the patrol car of the government, and it reads the car number of the peripheral taxi by the RFID, and the car number will be displayed on the GUI for the inspectors to check, so the illegal taxi around the patrol car will be found quickly. the device of collecting, searching, supervising and setting recorded information is installed in the taxi department, and the pooling taximeter should be set by the manager before using according to the law, including the preference and other parameters. The taxi’s recorded information will be collected by the RFID during operating, and will be saved to the MySQL database, which is convenient to manage and inquire the recorded information for future. It avoids the inconvenience of the existing meter that the recorded information is got by pulling the SD card. It also can be used to unlock the locked pooling taximeter together.After testing and running, each module of the system works well and the communication between different modules can work safely and reliably, and meets the design requirements. The summary and the outlook about this system are made at the end of this paper, and a new and improving scheme about this system is put forward so that the system can be upgraded. This system is used by the manager and the driver, which is convenient and simple to operation, and can be widely used in different model cars and regions for the taxi management and operation. |
