Study On The Influence Of Highway Space Landscape On Running Speed

The driver has a general feeling that it is easy to overspeed under a certain circumstance, because the driver think the speed is not exceed the speed limit with their observation in these sections, but in fact that the speed is already fast; In some sections, the driver drives very slowly, because he thinks the speed is already fast in these sections with their own observations, actually the speed is very slow. In fact, the highway environmental landscape has influenced on the driver’s judgment that ultimately reflected in the speed. So researching the influence what the highway environmental landscape brings to the operating speed can be more reasonable to set a suitable speed limit of the road and to reduce the road accidents.First, we have gathered relevant research results both at home and abroad to analyze the main reason which influenced on operating speeding. There are many factors that affecting operating speed, the main reason is space enclosed extent and road collection linear if analyzes from the perspective of the highway landscape. Then, dividing the highway landscape in detail to analyze the effects of different highway landscape on operating speed. What’s more, according to different highway landscape, using the VSDesign software which is developed independently by Kunming university of science and technology traffic simulation laboratory to construct the corresponding three-dimensional virtual scene. Finally using Kunming university of science and technology KMRTS driving simulator platform to conduct reality simulation experiment and to collect relevant data and to analyze the operating speed under different road alignment and highway landscape. The results prove that with enlarging the space closure, the operating speed will slow down gradually in straightway. The change of space closure has no influence on the operating speed in curve essentially. Which can offer some valuable reference frames for speed limiting. Meanwhile, it provides the correcting method for calculating the road operating seed, which is based on road landscape. That makes for the road safety evaluation.
