With the break in the height of buildings, overlimit high-rise buildings have become a symbol of economic development of an area or a city. Compared to multi-story buildings, high-rise buildings pay more attention to the control of inner stress affected by earthquake and wind, which makes choosing lateral force resistant structure of great importance. Currently, frame-core tube structure is one of the common structures used in high-rise building. Adding shaped steel into core tube promotes the lateral force resistant ability of the structure system as well as solving problems like larger component parts size of reinforced concrete structure and deficiency of corrosion resistance and fire resistance of steel structure. Hengte International Square of Guiyang City is used as an example in this paper to study the mechanical properties and the application in high-rise buildings of composite tube of shaped steel and reinforced concrete. Main work in this paper are as follows:1. 2 three-story staircase reinforced concrete tube infinite model of same size are established in finite element analysis software ANSYS, one of which has shaped steel concealed column and the other on is only made of reinforced concrete. Displacement, stress, strain and fracture propagation of the two models under same load are determined by nonlinear finite element analysis. The comparison analysis on results of two models has been done.2. Full model of Hengte International Square of Guiyang City is established both in PKPM SATWE and ETABS 2013. Analysis on static, response spectrum and dynamic elastic time history have been conducted, through which the displacement and inner force has been analyzed. Key parameters such as displacement ratio, period ratio have been compared to requirements of specifications. The analysis indicates that, compared to reinforced concrete tube, composite tube of shaped steel and reinforced concrete has better lateral force resistant ability. All the key parameters meet the requirements of specifications perfectly by using thecomposite tube of shaped steel and reinforced concrete in full model.
