As a important composition of city infrastructure, underground pipeline plays an more and more prominent role in social development, urban construction, industrial production and people’s living. It is a symbol to describe city modernization development level by employing correct and reliable underground pipeline information to serve city production and living. The achievement on digital pilot city and national requirement on digital city construction in the12th Five Year Plan have promoted the pace of digital city construction since2006. Underground pipeline detection and management information system construction are an integral part of digital city construction. Accordingly, there are significant practical meanings in strengthening quality control of underground pipeline detection project and furnishing accurate pipeline information.Based on the above consideration, the research on urban underground pipeline quality control is conducted by means of literature searching and experience discussion, combination of theory discussion and real evidence research, combination of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, traditional technology and advanced technology. There are totally six chapters in this article, and chapter1is general introduction, which describes research background, existing situation of domestic&overseas underground pipeline management work as well as research methods. Chapter2is review of related literature, and it describe project quality control theory and achievement of predecessor in underground pipeline survey field in every detail, which not only forms theory foundation for searching underground pipeline quality control methods and key points, but also be acquainted with the hot points and difficulties in predecessor’s research. Chapter3describes life cycle, and quality control target of underground pipeline detection project by means of project life cycle principle and problems in the quality. Chapter4describes how to search quality control key points and countermeasures in project planning, implementation and ending phase in the clue of underground pipeline detection process. Chapter5is empirical case research, which is employing Pulandian underground pipeline detection project for Shandong Zhengyuan Geographic Information Engineering Co., Ltd as the object to conduct quality control theory research. Chapter6is the conclusion, which summarizes the research result of this article and propose the possible innovation and deficiency.By system research, the following achievement is obtained in this article:(1)Underground pipeline detection project is divided into four phases according to life cycle theory:initiation phase, preliminary preparation phase, pipeline detection phase, pipeline drawing phase, achievement document organization and inspection phase. (2)Quality control target of underground pipeline detection project is concluded into7main targets and16secondary targets, which further identifies quality control orientation.(3)Conduct process quality control in clue of construction process of underground pipeline detection project, so, analysis of quality influence factor and countermeasures on quality control become more specific.(4)Figure out the easily neglected place and countermeasure which shall be strengthened in practical operation of underground pipeline detection quality control activity by means of empirical research.
