Research On Continuous Braking Performance Of Light Truck

The brake performance relates to the safety of vehicle directly, the continue brake performance is one of the important indicator, it is the prerequisite capability of the vehicle driving on the hill-road, so more and more vehicle manufactory pay more attention to study it. The article is based on the problem faced in during one light truck development, through theory analysis and practice verification, introduces the improvement methodology, action of continue brake performance, the test verification and related standard.First, based on drum brake, it builds the temperature model, analyses the reason of brake heat fading. Through brake bench test and road test, it defines that the friction material performance is the main cause of drum brake heat fading, it should choose the better heat fading material to improvement the heat stabilities of brake.Meantime, it analyses the heat dispersion of wheel end structure, through comparison of two kinds of brake drum installation, it concludes that it is useful to have better heat dispersion, if the hub installs outside the brake drum. Then it analyzes the structure design of brake drum, concludes that the trap cut structure and bigger thickness and applying spiral reinforcing rib is more useful to have better heat dissipation.Second, it analyses the brake servo system, finds the factor to effect the vacuum balance, provides the matching principle of vacuum tank volume, improvement method of the vacuum pump (without modifying parameter of the outlet dimension of pump and structure arrangement), validation method and related standard.At last, through build the mathematic model of auxiliary exhaust brake and hill road comparison test, it verifies the exhaust brake can compensate the continue brake fading, and introduces the calibration test methodology of exhaust brake.
