This paper studies the methodologies of the flexible CAPP system modeling and the flexible process expression. Analyzed the flexibility of the system and the process in detail, A 揵ookshelf?framework is constructed, which can be reconstructed to realize the flexibility of system. Applying system theory methods of Petri net and problem reduction, the author establishes the expression model of flexible process for the first time, The flexible process model on 揂ND/OR?tree of reduction along with depth and width searching algorithm is provided in the paper. The flexible process expression, based on Petri net and problem reduction, have not only shown dynamics of process planning , but also realized the coherence and consolidation 昽f the expression of CAPP process data and production management data. It provides an effective way for the integration and optimum of CAPP process and production process, too. Aimed at the integration of flexible CAPP and CAPM, A two-phase theory of static phase and dynamic phase is proposed. In the static phase, sub-optimum of semi-production is planned to reach the balance of burdens, which simplifies the modeling of dynamic integration in the dynamic phase~ In the dynamic phase, a new concept of sub-process is introduced to realize optimum. By making use of technologies of feature modeling and process decision, a flexible CAPP prototype system is developed on the basis of the system models, process expressing models and integrated optimum models mentioned above. The validation of the models and their algorithms were verified through test. This system provides a technogical support for the developing and application of the integrated CAPP system.
