In this paper, the characteristics of fault-information are researched, and the scheme of by information net of microcomputer based protective relaying and fault recorder composing fault-information processing system is presented. The scheme is mainly composed of center station and substation. Managing computer which installed at substation manage the information of microcomputer based protective relaying and fault recorder. After finished collection the messages of microcomputer based protective relaying and fault recorder, managing computer will classify, save, calculate and analyze them. And useful trip information will be sent to center station through MODEM or special line and be processed further at center station. The measures of improving the microcomputer based protective relaying without communication ability are presented in this paper, including hardware and software. in order to enhance communication ability of microcomputer based protective relaying and fault recorder, the serial interfaces are improved. To different model equipment, author presents the requirement about the conversion of communication protocol. The communication between the center station and substation in this system takes different two ways. one way is through MODEM and the other is through special line. They are in reserve each other. The connection interface with supervising and control system in this scheme is taken into account, so that messages can be sent to dispatching center as soon as possible. Dispatching center server in this system connect with MIS net. The server broadcasts information of relay and fault recorder with web page mode, the information are shared and can be used by the people of relative departments or leaders.
