The vibration of handsaw抯 blade is an important limiting factor of the improving of the generated quality in the woodcutting industry. At present, many approaches have been achieved on the mechanism analysis of vibration and the method of vibration reduction and suppression on bandsaw machine. The studying object of this thesis is the MJ3 17 model bandsaw machine with two kinds of band-spring straining devices. The computation and the comparative experiments are made to test the effect of two designs. The results of vibration experiments show that the single-band spring straining device is generally superior to the double-band one. The mechanics design of modified straining device is made to work out a reliable and steady-going bandsaw machine of high quality. The author puts forward a method to deal with the vibration signal. The VB program brings the Matlab function into execution by using the new ActiveX technology. This new method amazingly reduces the complexity of signal processing. The program can also act as the test tool to build the dynamic mathematical model of new straining device in the future.
