Abstract We are experiencing the real age of new economic. The networked Enterprise has been affected with their management organization and business process. As the key competence of an enteiprise, industry designs begin to play a more and more important role. At the same time, the growth of the Internet and other global communication networks has recast the role of information technique in business and management. In order to be more competitive, enterprise must make integration with the customers and partners, in a wider range and a higher level. The research of Agile Manufacturing emerges as the times require. This paper introduces a networked design-center based with the Agile Manufacturing System, and its support platform, and some of its key technique. The theory of Value-Net put forward a manufacturing mode of Design first. Based with it, we rearrange the traditional business process, and build a rational network frame. Acting as the leader of the Virtual Enterprise, design center will combine the customer relationship management, supply chain management, current engineering, etc. Based on the traditional theory of AMS, this paper put forward a new idea, which focus much on the design and in a radiant mode (D2B). We explore the issues in several directions: Firstly, we introduce some corresponding resolvent of some key technique, such as the AMS product full life cycle process modeling, workflow based negotiation method for Virtual product designing, and VR based remote communication for AMS. Then we go on to discuss the functional framework of the AMS based D2B virtual design center and its support platform, expounding the details of the recomposing method and the CE based product design processing rearrangement. Applying the theory, technique and method, this paper briefly introduces a cooperative project of PVDC (Plastics Virtual Design Center), about its management, running method, and the basic framework of its support platform. At last we give a detailed design of the most important part of it, the Material Virtual Workshop. We also talk about the potential application of it.
