Research On The Rehabilitation Of Portland Cement Concrete Pavement

As one kind of the high-grade pavement, Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement has been widely used in China since 1980's. However, the trouble of early structural distress in PCCP is often come up. This dissertation focuses on the PCCP rehabilitation techniques. First, the survey content and method are presented for the existing PCCP so that the necessary data can be obtained to determine the rehabilitation measures. The reason is analyzed from the use, design, construction and maintenance to explain the PCCP early distress. The routine maintenance, distress treatment and pavement drainage improvement are presented to solve this problem. Through the mechanical analysis of the asphalt concrete (AC) overlay on PCCP, the design method is provided for the overlay. At end, the construction techniques in PCCP rehabilitation are presented including grouting to the base of PCC slab, placing the geotextile and AC overlay.
