Study On The General Ways And Their Application Of Fault Calculation In Protection Relay Setting

A change of operation condition of power system can be viewed as a network operation. A method to simulate network operations by adding the corresponding Branch-Impedance Matrix to the original network is described in this paper.The compensation method is used to simulate network topology changes resulted by network operations and faults in this paper. And a general simple-fault calculation method allowing for network operations is presented.Network operations and complex faults are consistently viewed as the combination of symmetrical and asymmetrical modifications in this paper and thus a general complex-fault calculation method allowing for network operations is derived.The calculation software for relay setting of the west NeiMengGu power grid is upgraded based on the above fault calculation methods and is consequently qualified for relay setting of high voltage power grid.Xu XiangMing(electric power engineering) Directed by prof.
