Automobile impacting experiments are essential testing to verify safety of automobile,and dummies which are elementary tools of automobile impacting experiments play a key role in automobile safety business. Dummies are used in studying trauma of drivers and passengers in impacting between automobiles because they imitate human body's externality and interior.For a long time,research on automobile safety in China has been behind that in developed countries because of the lack of dummies with Chinese parameters. For coming over the bulwark of foreign advanced automobile safety technology and to create low cost and high quality dummies of China,the first integrated intelligentinize obverse impacting dummy was developed by Research Center of Man-machine Scinence and Engineering,Sichuan University Manufacture Enginerring Academy.The scheme of this project is:firstly,completing a automobile obverse impact dummy and preparing a special digital signal analysis system ( including sensors,a signal pretreatment,a signal collection,a digital signal process software);secondly,this dummy will be used in impacting experiments to check its signals response and bio-response characteristic through comparing sensors in difference parts of the dummy that are suffered one impact;thirdly,the bio-mechanics characteristic of the dummy will be demonstrated by Nationality Automobile Safety Testing Center.Depending on configration of American Hybrid-III dummy and the sitting posture of Chinese adult female 95th percent,the author completed design about the bio-machine configration of the dummy,and finished the whole components design and technics (about 250 blueprints). In digital signal analysis system,the author augmented the digital signal frequency compose with the principle of FFT on the base of old digital signal process software. Also,the author ameliorated interface with the result of more convenience,more function and more visual. In the impact experiments of the dummy,the author found the dummy has good bio-mechanicsresponse characteristic through compared the data. The important parts of the dummy,such as head,bosom and knees,were demarcated in Nationality Automobile Safety Testing Center,and the results were contrasted from Hybrid-Ill. These data almost answer for the standrads of FMVSS 208 and GB/11551-89,besides the signals wave resemble,so we can confirm that the design method and the measurement system are feasible.
