Research On The Application Of CMOS Image Sensor To Digital Still Camera

CMOS image sensor is discussed in comparison with CCD image sensor on the application of digital still camera. CMOS technics is mainstream technics in VLSI, which owes high integration and integrates many functions into one chip. Only one chip can complete full electric functions. CMOS image sensor consists of image array logic registers, memory, timer pulse generator and converter. Compared with CCD image sensor, CMOS image sensor not only reduces the power, but also owes light weight, small room and low cost.The paper study emphatically on the application and development foreground of CMOS image sensor. A complete digital still camera is also designed according to CMOS image sensor's feature, .including design of hardware circuit and software programme.
