Research On CMOS Digital Camera Based On Camera Link Interface

With the constant development of manufacture technics of the CMOS image sensor, the resolution and frame frequency improve constantly too, which makes the rate of communication between camera and frame grabber become more important. Camera Link is a kind of interface, which is developed along with the video application, and it solves the question of rate matching between video data outputting and grabbing, and breaks the rate bottle-neck in stream media.In this thesis I discussed the characteristic of the CMOS and CCD image sensor, then their application prospect in the field of the digital camera. I carried on detailed description focused on the Camera Link interface. Meanwhile, I also introduced the LVDS technology which is used in the Camera Link interface. And the skills in designing and using. Finally, I designed a more integrated digital camera according to the characteristics of CMOS image sensor and Camera Link interfaceExperimental results indicate that the CMOS camera obtains expected functions and is capable of presenting a clear picture of an object.
