City Attributes And Their Expression In Space Form

1n 2l century, Chinese cities wi11 make a great development. Citytheory which is more reasonab1e and systemic is being needed urgent1y.Thi s art ic1e ana1yses the react ions and express ions on industri a1 i zat ion,informati ona1 ization and economi c g1oba1 izati on. The introduction of thetwo concepts, main attribute and margina1 attribute, can benefit ourunderstanding about the traits of cities. We can use them to define theci ties' interna1 traits, judge their evo1utional states and patterns, sowe can comp1ete1y and exact1y understand the individua1 characters ofcities' evo1ution. We wi11 focus on the differences in space--form causedby city--attributes, and give a exp1anation about a11 kinds of questionsabout city deve1opment, guide city p1anning and designing.This artic1e introducts the concepts of main attribute and marginalattribute, exp1ains the concepts, meaning, causes and connections; findsout the causes of city attributes (especia11y margina1 attribute) in naturesection and society section; ana1yses the expressions and differencesbetween the two sides of city attributes in the ideas, constructions,evo1utions of city space form: at 1ast, make an expectation of thedeve1oPffient of city space form, give out three forms of city deve1opment.We want to make out some new conc1usions by sununing--up the city theoriesthat have being existed through a new point of view, afld make ainvestigations on those typica1 cities in Zhejiang province, to make ourconc1usions more clear and systemic. As a resu1t, we can make them becomea intact system. What 1 do is just the first step of this program.
