On the basis of the wide investigation of the achievement home and abroad about the friction energy dissipation frame, this dissertation has completed a whole research process -from time-history response analysis of the structure with friction energy dissipation, to the theoretical research on the frame with friction energy dissipation, up to application of friction energy dissipation in structural seismic.In the area of elasto-plastic dynamic analysis of frame with friction energy dissipation, the design-oriented nonlinear seismic response time history analysis method for frame with friction energy dissipation has been set up. And the corresponding program IDAFF is developed using Visual C++ language; The analytic solution of a single-damped-story braced frame with friction energy dissipation under the sine wave excitation has been give; Besides these, a vibration reduction analysis of multi-story frame with friction energy dissipation has been given in the paper and some useful conclusions have been drawn.In the area of parameters optimization of frame with friction energy dissipation, A new mathematic model of parameters optimization of friction energy dissipation has been proposed in this paper. The model aims at minimizing the sum of braces stiffness at given story drift angle limitation. By using Visual C++ language, a computer program GAOFF has been developed to optimize the parameters of friction energy dissipation braces based on genetic algorithm. Furthermore, the optimization of the parameters of the frame with friction energy dissipation under several earthquake records is solved. Examples are illustrated to verify the method.In the area of the application of friction energy dissipation in structural seismic strengthening, the engineering project has been taken as an example in this paper. And the seismic design of the structure has been checked and the weak story has been found with the help of soft named TAT. The optimal parameters of the friction energy dissipation have been designed based on the genetic algorithm and the limitations of structural inter-story displacement are satisfied under minor earthquake and major earthquake.In the last part of this paper, Dynamic analysis of frame and frame with friction energy dissipation has been discussed. The effect of the second stiffness of bilinear model on the dynamic response of the structure has been studied and some conclusions have been obtained. By analyzing the difference of the result between IDAFF and TAT, it can be concluded that: the result on the rotation of inter-story displacement complied the codes is on the high side under the minor earthquake and is possible on the low side under the major earthquake.
