A new torsion durability-testing machine for driven plates of automobile clutch, which is important testing equipment in automobile component industry, has been presented in this paper. Development of such machine will promote the driven plates' quality and give impetus to national automobile industry.The developing process, performance, makeup and principle of the testing machine, which is based on mechatronics, are described in details in this paper. In order to meet the needs of the functions included in this system, a computer control system based on IPC (Industrial Personal Computer) is adopted, whose structure and working principle are described in details.The dynamic load of the crank mechanism in the testing machine is the key factor that affects the work ability and the testing efficiency of the testing machine. On the basis of the dynamic analysis of the crank mechanism, the proving measures are put forward in this paper. It is significant to detect automatically the spring's fatigue break in the process of the driven plate's durability test for reliably gaining the fatigue life of the tested piece and realizing the automatization and intelligentize of the testing machine. A method by the change of the torsion rigidity of the tested piece through sampling torque wave of time domain in test process to detect automatically the spring's break is put forward in the paper. The method is proved valid by examination.The mechanism of the produce and spread of the frequency inverter's disturbance is analyzed in paper, then a series of anti-disturbance measures used in this system which efficiently restrain the disturbance is introduced.The new testing machine has been passed the reception test, and has a perfect performance in practice.
