Building whose coverings on wall and roof are shell have been used for many years and a lot of research and experiements on the performance of stressed skin have been carried out in the western countries and China but the past research work was mostly focused on skin diaphragms, espically on the connection between clad shells or clad shells and their sustaining bars while there was hardly any research and experiment on the buildings with clad structure as a whole. By analyzing through computer loading simulation the ordinary buildings without considering the stressed skin action, the buildings considering the stressed skin action and the buildings with clad structure of which the plane frame is of unstable system the thesis studies the features of destruction of the model, the ultimate bearing capacity, the distribution law of internal force and the situation of deformation. By comparing the result of analysis of the models it finds the contributions of skin to buildings which are as follows: it improves the bearing capacity of buildings, reduce the deformation of loading structure and improve the stiffness of whole buildings obviously. In addition, through simulation analysis of the clad structure the thesis finds the distribution law of the stress of clad structure, which is characterized as: 1) the shell stress of roof increases gradually from the lengthwise middle to the two gables and the greatest stress lies in the neighbourhood of the fastigium in the bay of the gables. 2) the shell stress of the lengthwise wall increases gradually from the lengthwise middle to the gables and the greatest stress lies in the foot of the column of the frame in the gables. 3) the shell stress of the gables is comparatively great near the column of the frame and the resist wind column and the greatest stress lies in the foot of the column of the frame. What's more, by simulation analysis, the thesis also finds the similarities among stiffness, bearing capacity and the distribution of bar stress between the stressed clad buildings with unstable system in the plane frame and the ordinary clad buildings and it presents the reasonable form of stressed skin structure by cancelling the conventional brace system between roofs and between columns and setting hinges on both the foot and the top of the columns...
