With the rapid development of Chinese economy, there has reveled a large need for light-gauge steel structure system in Chinese civil and industry building market, which is constituted by light-gauge steel frame and corrugated steel sheet. Considering the ability of resistance to shear of profiled sheet in the plane itself, not only reflect the working of structure but also obtain benefits.Although a lot of researches and experiments on the performance of stressed skin have been carried out in the world, but the past research work was mostly focused on skin diaphragms, especially on the connection between clad shells or between clad shells and their sustaining bars while there was few research and experiment on the buildings with clad structure and diaphragm with openings as a whole.This paper firstly designs a conventional light-gauge steel structure model without considering stressed skin effect according to current standard. By canceling roof braces and column braces, arranging diaphragms of roof, fastigium and longitudinal wall, a closed model is set up. Eleven different models with openings are set up, concluding making openings in roof sheeting, gable sheeting, longitudinal wall sheeting to the closed model. This paper makes some analysis of skin structures with openings loaded horizontally on the top of the columns, including the situation of structural deformation, horizontal displacement of column top and rooftop, frame member internal force, the distribution of diaphragm stress and maximum of internal force and stress, and further makes compare with the conventional light-gauge steel structure model without considering stressed skin effect, and also studied the mechanical performance of diaphragm and skin structures with openings, consisting the situation structural deformation, horizontal displacement of frame, frame member internal force and distribution of diaphragm stress, and enduce the mechanical performance and approach of diaphragm and skin structures, and further validate its superior economy and rationality, and drew how the position, mode and dimension for openings affect its mechanical performance, and finally ehduce the space unitary performance of stressed sikn structure with openings, and the best position, mode and dimension for openings and some other useful disciplines. These conclusions and suggestions which are put forward for applications at the last can be used as references for Chinese light-gauge steel structures design code later.
