China's Middle Route Southto-North Water Transfer Project is a great transportation project to supply the need of life, industry and environment water in such regions as Beijing, Tianjing and North-China. The main channel with long route, large discharge, number of dividing and control gates is also a great transportation system with wide areas for water supply, numerous crossing construction and complicated 'running control.According to the layout and current operation plan of the Middle Route channel, the water quantity from Middle Route project is varying and the need of the water in every dividing gate is also varying along the channel. In view of the expenses and the transportation flexibility, it's necessary that the transportation channel can respond to the change of the water quantity. The aim of this simulation subsystem for China's Middle Route South-to-North Wate Transfer Project is to improve the transportation efficiency of the project and to ensure the stability and security of the running. In this system, after the establishment of the simulation model of the Middle Route channel, the simulation and research is done for hydrodynamic Control Transportation System of main Channel. The results should supply reference to the design, the management and the security of the channel.Firstly, this paper is beginning with the compare to several hydrodynamic Control measures of the channel. The basic theories of system simulation areapplied in the establishment of one dimension and unsteady flow simulation platform in the channel, which is also based on differential equation with distributed parameter and mature discrete-format. Secondly, the simulation soft of transportation channel is friendly, alternating, modular and extendable because its development is linked with Object-Oriented modeling method. Thirdly, based on transportation data in the design and layout of the channel supplied by the Changjiang Water Conservancy Committee, the transportation process of the Middle Route channel is simulated in this paper, and the operation and running plans are previewed. At the same time, the optimization of the distance between two control gates is studied. Based on a series of simulation experiments, results are used to approve the transportation ability of the channel and it's also analyzed whether the fluctuation of the water lever is over the maximal bound so as to destroy the scaleboard on the channel, the reasonable distance between two control gates is optimized. In view of the agility and security in the transportation, some suggestion on the running of the project can be obtained after the simulation for series of plans under different discharge across gates. Finaly, the dynamic display technic of one dimension flow is discussed.
