The Influence Of The Islamic Architectural Culture On The Huis Residence

Xi'an Huis region is the oldest one with the largest scale in China. On one hand, it has a long story and the multicultural characteristics; on the other hand, some traditional Huis Residences are decreasing with the population growth and the change of social living mode. It is very necessary to re-recognize the Huis residence and then to tighten the preserve and renewal of it.In this thesis, Huis residence is the object of study and its characteristics is analyzed from three parts. In the first part, starting with reviewing the historical evolution of the development of Xi'an Huis region, its religious tradition and national style is studied synthetically and thoroughly. In the second part, in connection with the living formation of Huis region, the structure of streets and alleys, residence and mosque are analyzed in its aspects of society, culture, religion and nationality. The feature of the plan form, adornment, decorative pattern, hue and religious belief of the Huis residence under the influence of Islam Architectural Culture is also studied. In the third part, the preserve and renewal of the Huis residence and Huis region is discussed, taking into account of the important role which plays in the features of ancient city Xi'an.
