With the functional diversification of tall building, the tube structures with transfer storey have been widely used in seismic zones. The level of transfer storey is higher and some new styles oftransfer member, such as transfer bracket, have been used recently in tall buildings. This paper presents some aseismic concepts of tube structures with transfer storey and experiment on transfer bracket as a new style of transfer member.This paper points out the main factors affecting the abrupt changes of the lateral stiffness and shear forces near the transfer storey are the stiffness of peripheral tube and the level of transfer storey by the analysis of the abrupt changes in 10 types of tube structure. Some aseismic design concepts of tube structure with transfer storey, including the level of transfer storey, the change rate of equivalent stiffness, the change rate of lateral stiffness, are presented.Transfer brackets are used in ShenZhen FuJian XingYe Bank for extention and setback along the height of the building. Based on static experiment research of 1/5 structural model of transfer bracket of this building, cracks development, effect of pre-stress, distribution of stress, form of failure and carrying capacity of the model under vertical load action are studied. The main structural members of the modelinclude the transfer bracket, the floor above the transfer bracket and the columns near the transfer bracket, etc. By comparison of two reinforcing methods, some aseismic concepts and design methods of transfer bracket are presented.
