The torsion effect is an important factor that causes the seismic damage of structures, so it has always being an important problem in seismic research field all through. But the translation-and-torsion coupling vibration of structure is a three-dimensional problem, and the experimentation is limited to the size and quantity, so the computer simulation becomes the main method to study the torsion effect. Issued" Code for seismic design of buildings " for mally in July of 2001( GB50011- 2001). Though 01 Code keep 89 Code about building structure design philosophy and overall method of seismic, But there are sizable adjustment and change in Code the content, scope of application and concrete technological measure etc.. 01 several revision clause of Code receive earthquake experience , or uses the foreign Code for reference. Among them not carry on the throughgoing and painstaking research analytical work without lacking some clauses, Among them include the design method of the irregular frame too, its correct and rational degree remains in time to be clear. So it is necessary to carry on the following work: â‘  Structures are designed according to code 89,01 and be compared; â‘¡ 89,01 normal structure antidetonation performance designed is compared with. At present, functions and forms of buildings trend towards diversification, plane and set up surface irregular already quite general structure even more, Outstanding to torsion effect question, it is more nessary to go on and assess and prove safely to Code design method even more.As far as the irregular structure, only the first step of design is really performed according to the Chinese code for seismic, and the structures' response under the fortification and rare seismic action need to be reviewed through some three-dimensional nonlinear analysis quantificationally. This paper firstly compares the provisions about torsion effect and anti-torsion design in several codes (the 89 and 01 Chinese code for seismic, and some other countries' codes)ï¼›according to the 89 and 01 code for seismic design of buildings , the paper designs six multi-storied irregular RC spatial frames, which respectively situated at the area of fortification intensity 7,8 and 9ï¼›then compare with 89, 01 Code structures to reinforce bar difference and reason analyse. At the foundation above, using the program based on the column-beam element of fiber model, input several ground motion records, which are selected according to the demand of code, to carry the structures' three-dimensional nonlinear analysis in two perpendicular directions at the same time. At the end, the paper sums up the calculation results, reviews the whole performance and analyse the difference reason of this type of structures underearthquake actions. Except that, it reviews the structures' security about the translation-and-torsion coupling response under the fortification and rare seismic actions, and gives a primary evaluation.
