The background of this paper is the development of some real-time data collecting subsystem in aero measurement. In this paper, we studied the technologies such as data collection, data buffer, data storage and data communication in order to meet the requirement in real-time, reliability and graphic user interface(GUI). Two effective designs and implementations of the real-time software are discussed in detail.Firstly, we analyze the feasibility of Windows NT for our system. And the design and implementation of the software based on Windows NT is proposed. From our experiments, we conclude that this implementation may satisfy the requirement in real-time to some degree.Secondly, we do much research on the design and implementation of the software based on real-time operating system(RTOS) QNX. We also study the detailed technologies, which include the using of high precision timer, mapping of memory , buffering of data, and realizing of GUI. QNX can meet user' s requirement of high real-time according to our experiments.At last, a comparision is made between Windows NT and QNX in theory and on our experiments. We can see that the speciality in real-time of QNX is much better than that of Windows NT, and the flexibility of QNX in realizing GUI is not better than that of Windows NT.
