Frame-Shear Wall structure is widely used in Civil engineering, but the study of earthquake resistant behavior and elastic-plastic finite element analysis is very poor for this structure used in large industrial factory building. According to model pseudo dynamic test of the longitudinal frame-shear wall structure of main factory building in a large thermal power plant, the paper investigates loading behavior, failure proceeding, strength, rigidity, deformation, ductility and behavior of dissipating seismic energy, and puts forward suggestions of improving structural anti-seismic behavior.According to the demand of the revision of CSDB, the program for the spectrum-based static elastic-plastic analysis of frame-shear wall structure is written by the finite element method. Not only does this program have the advantage of connecting with CSDB of China , it is convenient for application as well. Using the program, wecangetthewhole failureprocess, the failuremechanism, the internal force characteristics and the weak parts of the frame-shear wall structure when it is suffering the lateral seismic action. Furthermore, Comparing between the results calculated by the program and that of the test indicate that they are analogical.Using the program, both the model structure and the prototype of the longitudinal frame-shear wall structure system of main factory building in a large thermal power plant are analyzed, from which we get the regular pattern of earthquake resistant behaviors of this kind of structure and propose the recommends for b oth s eismic d esign and c onstruction. B esides, t he a uthor p oints o f t he b earing capacity-based seismic design method which is adopted by the current CSDE are pointed and some proposals are given.
