High-rise building is developing really fast in China right now toward the trend of more height and more complicated structure, making the seismic design of high-rise building in second phase more difficult and complex. Since frame-shear wall structure is widely applied in modern buildings, such an elastic-plastic analysis on its seismic behavior is of significance and practical value. Frame-shear wall structure, as its name implies, combines the features of frame and shear wall to deal with the lateral force. This paper investigates the load feature of frame-shear wall structure, establishes three-dimension finite element model by using ANSYS (the universal finite element program) and analyzes the dynamic characteristic of the structure with varied computing methods and analysis approaches. Specifically, several works are done in the paper as follows:1,The paper introduces static analysis (pushover) method and non-linear dynamic analysis principle based on the summary of current elastic-plastic study on seismic behavior of frame-shear wall structure.2,The paper builds the model of frame-shear wall structure and goes on with modal analysis and spectral analysis. Time-procedure analysis and four lateral load modes of the structure under the effect of three earthquake waves are also done to come out with relatively reasonable load modes after comparison for further pushover analysis computing. The author also evaluates the earthquake resistance of the structure with the capacity spectrum method.3,After inputting different earthquake waves into the physical model, the author conducts elastic-plastic dynamic analysis with ANSYS software and compares the results. We can draw a conclusion that both storey displacement and displacement angle can meet the standard of earthquake resistance by looking into the deformation and stress-strain distribution of the structure influenced by the three earthquake waves. We can also examine the elastic development of shear wall by comparing weak parts of the structure and stress-strain distribution of shear wall against earthquake load.
