Performance of building structures to seismic loads has always been of great importance to engineering design and research practices. After a brief literature reviewing on the progress in this field , the article made the 3–dimension finite element model of a frame-shear wall buildings using general FEM software ANSYS. And numerical study on dynamic characteristics,dynamic responses and seismic behavior evaluations of elastic-plastic stage of this structure would be performed.The achievements are as follows:First of all,in order to study the dynamic characteristics of the building perform the modal analysis. Secondly,based on the elastic-plastic static analysis of the theory , imposed on the four different loads, after select a more reasonable load mode, perform elastic-plastic static analysis and calculation on this structure. The seismic capacity of this structure would be evaluated with the capacity spectrum method. Thirdly,the simple description of elastic-plastic dynamic analysis theory, this article selected three earthquake waves,in order to study the seismic performance of buildings , performing elastic-plastic time-history analysis on establishment of non-linear structure model under 8 degree seldom occurred earthquake action by single mode input way. Of which,it explains seismic wave selection and coordination principle, it mainly analyses structural behaviour under three seismic waves.Finally, the article makes the analysis of seismic performance to the two kinds of elastic-plastic reaction of the structure. Results of the analysis show the two kinds of reactions, the structure of displacement, displacement angles of the adjacent floor obtained a comparative analysis of the structure of the overall deformation and deformation aspects between layers to meet the requirements specification limits. With the capacity spectrum method to determine the structure of performance point to study the structure of performance point in this capacity under the shock. By comparing the structure of the base shear force-displacement curve of peak load capacity to examine the structure to resist. Seismic waves with the structure of incentives under the stress-strain diagram to reflect the structure of the internal force distribution, plastic distribution and structure of the weak parts, but also reflect the law of development of plastic shear walls and circumstances.The results got by this paper provide a theoretic base for the seismic design, and also have vast reference values for the design of the similar frame-shear structures. And show the ANSYS as one of the most famous finite element software for seismic research value.
