Explaining Human Connotation Of Modern College Campus

From the origin of humanism, this article analyses the history and modern status of humanism between China and foreign countries, the essay reviews the profound origin connection between humanism and university, and the change of educational thought of college, and opens out the profound influence on education and campus construction with the development of humanism. Applying the theories of environment-behavior, psychology and other architecture, the author analyses human value of modern college campus is to create the humanized space for the users' experience, and emphasizes "humanity" (emotion)and "spirit" (meaning)are the essence of human value. It reflects that modern college concerns human being. The thesis studies the factors of humanism on modern college campus from the space, environment, culture and others. The author provides some basic principles, design views and design methods about humanism. Through those, the modern college campus will walk up to a humanism and sustainable development way. Finally, the author demonstrates human value of modern college campus with some studies and design instances.
