Hydropower Stations of Shiquan and Xihe River both lie on the Hanjiang River upstream and work in multifunction of irrigation, flood control, water carriage, aquiculture etc. in addition to electric power generation. The Shiquan Hydropower Station, which was completed in 1975, is a seasonal regulating hydropower station, 42 kilometers to downstream of Xihe River Hydropower Station. But Xihe River Hydropower Station, which is to be commenced in 2003, is a day regulating hydropower station. In order to promote the integrated efficiency of electric power generation of both stations, this thesis demonstrates the study on cooperating operation of the two-hydropower stations of cascade. The main results are as follows:1. An optimal operation model for group function of hydropower station is set up based on the basic principle of decomposition-coordination for big system. We have adopted the simplified methodology for pattern function to obtain the results of the initial orbits of each hydropower station. Further more, the final results of best operation trace and capacities process concerning each hydropower station have been obtained through the relevant information iteration and information transmission. As per optimal operation pattern function with annuals cycle, each decision of annual cycle and corresponding operating factors in the light of observed value of random variable, regression analysis at each time-interval is carried out and then regression equation will be as the operation function to guide cooperating operation for group hydropower station.2. The study on the optimal cooperating operation of hydropower stationsof Shiquan and Xihe River hydropower station adopts big system model of decomposition-coordination methodology, which is a qualitative model. In the condition of being given runoff inflow series of various reservoirs, the optimal decision-making process of cooperating operation of hydropower stations could be obtained through this model. This process could be worked as results of qualitative calculation.3. According to the established model of decomposition-coordination for group hydropower station, the optimal cooperating operation study is utilized to the Hydropower Stations of Shiquan and Xihe River. Simulative operation of optimal cooperation in series of runoff data measured of 44 years is performed.
