With the development of economic construction in China, cities are moved in high speed. Big pieces of detruding and rebuilding erase the old mark of the city and bring new faces. It is a kind of destruction and waste more or less. It is becoming an issue arouse wide attention in the society that how to reduce the negative impact in the city construction. Under the strong business background, the multiformity in the post-modern period offers the platform of society and culture to rebuild the old buildings and renew the communities. It also develop the living space to preserve the sites implicate history and culture.This article starts with the solutions of city renewal. It deserts the rise of LOFT culture and parses its concept with historic incidence in the first chapter. The second chapter analyses the spatial features of LOFT with some cases. It also discusses its impact on habitation architecture, office architecture, business architecture and exhibition and museum architecture. In the third chapter, it analyses the features of LOFT communities and the interacted relations between its cultural phenomenon and economy, politics, culture and social estates. The forth chapter present the living condition and social response of LOFT community and its culture in China by reviewing the Dashangzi Art Community in Beijing and analyzing the sociological questionnaire. It also offers a more opened way to rebuild the old buildings and to renew the communities in the future. The interview records and questionnaire are added at the end of the dissertation.
