With the improvement of train speed and transportation density, the real time monitor and malfunction diagnosis system of the locomotive carries more weight in the safe working of the locomotive. Meanwhile, working status records of the locomotive have more influence on the advancement of examination quality and the decrease of repair cost.To store and analyze the status of locomotive is needed and important in the application. So its monitor system becomes the hot point of the research of locomotive equipment.Now locomotive is one of the most important engines in traffic. This paper focuses on "Dongfeng 8B" locomotive and design a working quality monitor system, based on Fieldbus, for the currently problem in this field. The system consists of transducers, CAN nodes, center monitor node and data analyze node.The CAN node which is based on the MCU can sample and transport both analog and digital signals. There are two input channels of analog signals and four input channels of digital signals in every CAN node.Center monitor node bases on PC104 in hardware and windows CE operate system in software. It can achieve CAN node configuration,human-machine interface,display and store of locomotive working status record,field diagnosis and alarm function. Center monitor node connects CANbus through CAN card and EVC is used to develop WinCE application program.The data analyze node can implement the high-speed output of working records and the synchronization of data through Ethernet communication of central monitor node, and uniformly manages the working records using database. The data analyze node can display the real time and historical curves and export the tables. It also diagnoses the trend of every part status with the help of expert system.Considering special working condition on the locomotive, the paper introduces its anti- interference design and finishes the system debugging.
