From the development of bicycle traffic and the limited land resource of urban,the urban traffic will be mixed with motor vehicle and non-motorized vehicle in along time. Therefore it is necessary to study traffic flow mixed motor andnon-motorized vehicle in urban road. In the road of traffic mixed motor vehicle andnon-motorized vehicle, non-motorized block interference can cause the delay oftraffic, which has not been studied completely because of lacking clear mathematicalmodel and calculation method. It is meaningful to analyze the delay of road trafficcaused by non-motorized quantitatively for evaluating service level of road anddetermining reasonable road resistance. This paper mainly analyzes the delay of road traffic flow caused bynon-motorized vehicle block interference. Based on the survey data, this paperanalyzes the characteristics of vehicle arriving process. Then M3 distribution of thevehicle headway is advanced. Aiming at discrete flow and continuous flowrespectively, a block delay model of road traffic caused by non-motorized vehicle isdeduced according to probability theory and hydrokinetics simulation theory. Thenbased on the survey data, the parameters of model are calibrated. To analyze thecharacteristic of the delay completely, some factors of delay are discussed. Then anexample of delay model is given. Concretely, this paper constitutes of six parts. The first part is the introduction,which simply suggests the study background, intention and contents. The secondpart mainly reviews previous studies and analyzes their problems, based on whichthe new study idea and method are suggested. In the third part, the characteristics oftraffic flow mixed motor vehicle and non-motorized vehicle is depicted in details.The bicycle block interference process and characteristics of vehicles arriving arestudied fully. Especially the block interference process is analyzed, which lays thefoundation of then model. The forth part discusses the vehicle block delay. Aiming IIABSTRACTat different state of discrete flow and continuous flow in traffic flow, this paperestablishes a block delay model for road traffic caused by non-motorized vehicle. Inthe fifth part, based on the survey data, this paper calibrates the parameters of delaymodel. The sixth part analyzes some factors causing delay in the model, thendemonstrates the application of the delay model. At last, the paper achievement issummarized and the future study is also suggested.
