The Impact Of Motor Vehicles On Bicycles In Mixed Traffic Condition

The main characteristic of china’s traffic will be mixed traffic, so it is necessary to develop further research about traffic flow under the environment of mixed traffic. A kind of influence exists between motor vehicle and non-motorized vehicle, lots of achievements has been done considering the interaction from the perspective of motor vehicles,the study worth added is analysis about bicycles flow.The paper main use mathematical statistic method and simulation system to make a comprehensive analysis about the impact which motor vehicle bring to bicycles, related datas were obtained through a lot of observation in sections and intersection.The impact of motor vehicle on bicycles in sections:first determines a variety of confounding factors motor vehicles bring to bicycles in sections;then give a quantitative analysis of bicycle velocity distribution and lateral shift trajectory in three cases which are no interference condition, friction interference condition and block interference condition; finally, establis a bicycle speed changing equation under block interference condition and obtain the speed of the bicycle by the regression method under friction interference condition,at the same time analysis the delay of bicycles according to the progress of speed changing when two forms of interference occur respectively.The impact of motor vehicle on bicycles in signal intersection:first outlines how motor vehicle affect on the different trend of bicycles in signalized intersections, making straight direction bicycles that were affected by the right turn motor vehicle as an object; then analyzes the speed as well as passing time of a single bike or a group of bicycles when affected by the right turn motor vehicle,at the same time,study the degree of influence that cars and buses have affect on the bicycles; finally analyzed the capacity of straight bicycles when motor vehicle and bikes crossing each other, proposed a formula for calculating the capacity of straight bicycles, establish a simulation system using the software simulation vissim, further analyzing the effect which motor vehicle impact on bikes when the traffic flow, acceleration and the proportion of buses changes.Results show that the capacity of straight bicycle decreased by33%,11%and40%.
