Environmental protection, convenient and healthy non-motorized vehicle has been given an important strategic position when facing the traffic congestion and pollution of the environment problem serious, it has always affects the operation quality of the whole city traffic system. However, what is in sharp contrast is that right of non-motorized vehicle can’t be protected effectively, travel environment is becoming worse, travel mode ratio showed a downward trend year by year. In the domestic, related research on non-motorized vehicle riding behavior characteristics and the level of service from the angle of travel environment is less. At the same time, the existing results of related research are not suitable for the mixed traffic flow on the bicycle and electric bicycle components, have nothing to do with providing technical support for improving and non-motorized traffic system planning. Therefore, in view of the characteristics of the present stage of the non-motorized vehicle traffic flow, study on non-motorized vehicle riding behavior characteristics and establishes the corresponding service level from the angle of travel environment, it has a very important significance in improving the non-motorized traffic situation and promoting the harmonious development of the city.This paper points out the shortcomings of section classification method based on analyzing the existing urban road cross section types and characteristics, put forward the classification method of city road cross section in a non-motorized traffic as the main body. At the same time, raises rates like average speed, standard deviation of velocity, average absolute acceleration, average absolute rate of change of acceleration and average rate of absolute lateral migration on the basis of non-motorized vehicle riding behavior characteristics analysis. And then determine the riding behavior-- the traffic environment conditions on road. Analysis the non-motorized vehicle riding behavior characteristics, non-motorized vehicle riding in typical section and different cross sections and mining law riding behavior characteristics through the investigation of non-motorized vehicle riding behavior. Establish the model of riding behavior characteristics by generalized regression neural network which is based on the road traffic environment. At the same time, this paper will carry out the non-motorized vehicle riding behavior experiment, determine the physiological characteristic indexes of the rider, analysis riding physiological characteristics and rules of typical road, and the changing tendency of the characteristics of physiological and physiological characteristics on different section and regularity of the rider. On basis of the above research, conduct non-motorized vehicle service level survey, to analyze the influence and interference factors of different coefficient, then combining physiological characteristics of the rider, to determine the evaluation index of non-motorized vehicle service level from the subjective and objective point of view, to formulate the corresponding classification standards.This paper provides a kind of simple and feasible method to get non-motorized vehicle riding behavior characteristics in sections under mixed traffic flow and to determine the level of service. It also provides technical support for the design and improvement of non-motorized travel environment, laid the foundation for the relevant research of non-motorized vehicleservice level and route guidance on network level.
