In course of high-speed railway, performance of pantograph and catenary demands improvement in all facets. Kinematic performance of pantograph, current collecting performance, static and dynamic intensity of pantograph and catenary are urgent to be improved.According to the design procedure of pantograph, virtual prototyping, including three-dimensional simulative model, kinematics and dynamics etc., is applied to the study of the system of pantograph/catenary, some main topics are discussed in this thesis. Firstly, performances of intensity and kinematics are studied based on the three-dimensional simulative model of pantograph. Secondly, to make a vibration analysis of catenary. Thirdly, the coupling dynamic property of the different system of pantograph/catenary, the vibrating responses in consideration of the track excitation and the dynamic stress of the simple catenary are analyzed.Above all, the three-dimensional simulative model of pantograph frame structure is developed in this paper. Modal and intensity property of pantograph frame structure is studied; Modal and intensity properties of different material upper frame are analyzed. Vibrational properties of four different type catenary(CH160-0,CH160-Y,Re250-0,Re250-Y) are studied based on their finite models. Catenary is considered as flexible body in dynamic simulation in this thesis.Next, the three-dimensional simulative model involved in track, train, pantograph and catenary is set up. Based on the model, current collecting performance is the emphasis of dynamic simulation. At the same time, the vibrating responses in consideration of the track excitation is analyzed and the results at different speed are compared.Finally, trial data from Baoji Railway Testing Center is to verify the method that stress is studied by using finite model of catenary dynamic. Through the detailed analysis and calculation we get the dynamic properties of the catenary.
