Based on the abroad reading of relating articles at home and abroad, the author summarizes the existing suction types of domestic and international pumping stations near river with broad water level variation in the river, analyzes the advantages, disadvantages and application scope of different suction types. And associating with the theory of decision-making tree, the author establishes the economic comparative model of suction type of pumping stations with broad water level variation in the river. With the model, we can compare different suction types conveniently, simply and explicitly, more effective, and more promptly, and then get the best suction type.This dissertation also discusses the basic principle on optimal operation of pumping station. Based on the basic traits of pumping stations with the pump can change the speed of its' rotors, combining with some kinds of optimal algorithms, the author builds optimal models, and writes corresponding programs with the case of a first-grade pumping station of Baigongci water plant in the county of Zhongxian, Chongqing. With the comparing of the results, the feasibility and applicability of different algorithms are analyzed, and the most useful and efficient algorithms to this problem are found and improved, that is the Genetic Algorithm designed by the writer.What's more, using the language of Visual Basic, Fortran, the author exploits and designs the optimal operation software system of pumping stations with the Genetic Algorithm designed before in success. With the software system, the managers can always make the pumping station run with high efficient, and it is very convenient. Moreover, the optimal operation software system is an opening system, it's data can be initialized based on different pumping stations, and also can be modified, added and deleted according to the altering of the sets of pumping station, so to reassure the validity and veracity of the optimal operation.In the end, the author summarizes the research results and analyzes the deficiency of this dissertation and the software system. Some topics and problems are discussed, which need to study farther, to establish the farther research target.
