Industry control technology's development goes through pneumatically operated field-mounted instrument control system, analog packaged electronic instrument control system, digital concentrated control system, distributed control system then comes to field-bus control system. Now industry control technology trends to take the advantage of Ethernet, cause Ethernet's rapidly development in recent years does make it feasible for using in industry control area. Furthermore, compared to field-bus, Ethernet is more open, higher communicate speed, cheaper and easier to combined to the office automation network.In the near future, China will witness a rapidly development of industrialization that in the stage of middle period. Heavy industry and those inosculate to it in forward or backward, and high-tech industry will bloom out, so, advanced control technology must in great need surely. Compare with the well developed field-bus, Ethernet for industry is just a baby, we have lost many on the former, we couldn't lose more on the later.Under the background, this paper discusses designing and carrying out of an embedded controller's that base on Ethernet.Firstly, we introduce actuality of field-bus's and Ethernet's, mainly concentrate on the feasible of using Ethernet in industry and advantages of Ethernet to field-bus. We also tell something about founding criterion of Ethernet for industry in the world.Then, we introduce some basic knowledge related to the work, they are: embedded system and embedded software, Ethernet and TCP/IP. While introducing the TCP/IP protocol family, we selectively present some protocols used in the task, and discuss what should be cut to fit the embedded system.In the last two chapters, we narrate the design and realization of hardware and software, some diagram and soft test are presented.Then, we discuss some problems during designing the controller and give the solution.Finally, we summarize the paper, point out the deficient and what should be improved in the following work.
