The Research On Sustainable Utilization Of Great Site In Shaanxi Province

The protection and utilization of great site is a new and difficult problem in the filed of historic heritage protection. The great sites in Shaanxi are important part of its plentiful historic heritage and precious wealth of the world. Under the market economy term and the process of big development of the west region, the great site protection faces the unprecedented opportunity and challenge. Therefore, the protection and sustainable utilization of great site in Shaanxi has great historic and realistic meaning.In this paper the theories of sustainable utilization of great site are explored deeply. In the first, an academic concept of the great site was put forward in contrast to another concept 'site'. In the second, based on the analysis of the character of great site, this dissertation recognized that great site has the character of region as well as the character of cultural property, that showed the protection and utilization of great site should adopt the method of regional synthesis analysis. In the third, the theoretical system of sustainable utilization of great site was set up by means of expressing the principle and method of management, administration, development in tourism, and regional sustainable development.Combining the study with author's work, the method of environment protection, industry development, and society renewal of the great site region was expressed such as Ganquan palace, Han Chang'an city, and the Mausoleum of Emperor Qin Shihuang, that has great value referring to the protection of other great sites abroad and inland.The author suggested the protection of great site should be brought into the research of region and the strategy of regional sustainable development. As big site should be defined the region composed of complicated composition to which ruin is key source, the sustainable utilization is no doubt combined with regional sustainable development. In conclusion, the theory brought forward in this dissertation made a breakthrough at the old companion, enriched the method of great site protection and utilization, and provided a new viewpoint for the research in future.
