The paper introduces research to the Power Substation Management Information System project, and describes the developing procedure.The development of Power Substation Management Information System is based on .NET framework, and programmed mainly in C# language. .NET is the next generation computing platform founded by Microsoft Corporation, consist of developer tools, Web services, servers, smart clients, and .NET experience. Among the five portions, the developer tools, especially the .NET framework in it, is the most challenging portion, and is integrated with the other four portions as the core portion.C# language is a kind of new, wholly object-oriented language under the .NET framework. Provided with powerful functionality like C/C++, high usability and effiency like VB, and many other excellent features from Delphi and Java, C# is considered by many to be the language of choice for .NET development.The paper analyzes the businesses requirement and function requirement of power substation management in electric power industry, then determines the system structue and general functions according system design and analysis. The system focuses on power substation management, contains operation management, double-note management, substation facility management, defects managemet, and so on. The system adopts a 4-tier architecture, including representation layer, business facade layer, business rules layer, and data access layer.The paper studies control creation and implementation of the n-tier architecture under .NET framework, and provides some sample codes on them respectively.
