However, owing to theover-fast development of the mountain cities space and our incorrect comprehension,we have made some mistakes. In 2000 Chinese urbanization level was 36.09%, in 2020it will be 50%. Chinese urbanization has entered into a high-speed development phase, and Chinese cities will also enter into a high-speed development phase. City spacialdevelopment is facing good opportunities and austere challenge. In Cheng-Yu economy belt, mountain cities space developments have beeninfluenced by the nature, the history evolution, the traffic condition, the economy andthe technology level, the society, the culture, and the polity. Mountain cities haveformed characteristic "shan-shui" city space forms, and mountain cities structure haspresented distinct regional character. Taking the middle cities in Cheng-Yu economy belt as examples, in the thesis wediscuss the development course, the influencing factor, the power mechanism, thedevelopment disciplinarian, and the form character of the mountain cities spacedevelopment with urbanization. Aiming at the facing opportunities and the challenge,we try to search a mountain cities space development countermeasure during thehigh-speed development phase.
