Distributed system for hydrological collection and transmission is the vital basis of applying IT to the hydraulic engineering. The research about how to apply it means priceless treasure for improving the guarantee rate of flood control, optimizing consumption of water resource in the irrigation area and economizing water resource, etc.In this paper, we suggest some approaches to building distributed system for hydrological collection and transmission.1) Aiming at the characters of broad irrigating terrain, distributed measure station and abominable working condition and taking the control flood and water resource management requirements for the credibility, real-time response and stability into account, we present a RTU architecture based on LonWorks platform technology. Based on the research about LonWorks platform technology, such as communication capability, topological attribute, etc, we build the RTU architecture primarily using LonWorks platform technology.2) This paper arguments the technique road. In the special designment, we build host computer system of regimen remote measurement terminal and sensor adaptor node for hydrographic parameters, design the hardwarelogic circuit, and show the software of RTU, such as the program of LonRTU and RTU adapter etc. At last, aiming at network commucitation of node, it takes system for hydrological collection and transmission about LonWorks as example.3) Other than, this paper involves the parts of wireless communication system and regimen monitor center. To adapt to the current requirements of system for hydrological collection and transmission, compared with many kinds of the communication scheme nowadays, this paper presents the communication networks consisting of CDMA-wireless communication network and PSTN, those of which is the backup system for each other. The centre station software takes responsibility of dealing with the hydrographic information from locale remote measurement terminals and handling how to remotely monitor. The centre software of regimen monitor consists of collecting, storing, arranging data and displaying. In this paper, we make use of the attributes of COM+ that support distributed matters. Based on these technologies, we build up the distributed and isomeric computing environments aiming at regimen monitor system. In the end, this paper presents the application example-applying this system to the monitor centor of Sheng Zhong reservoir management bureau.
