In the recent twenty years, the shear wall structure of large spaces at low part is increasingly applied in engineering since its first use in the middle of 1970s in China. Because of the obvious changing of vertical rigidity , this structure is greatly different from the traditional ones in forms and load-bearing characteristics. Although scholars home and abroad have made certain researches on the structure, their research on its dynamical characteristics and anti-earthquake behavior is not in-depth.Taking one shear wall structure of large spaces at low part as an example, the author adopt ANSYS, a finite-element analysis program, to conduct modal analysis, response spectrum analysis and time history analysis. In order to study the dynamical characteristics and the response characteristics under the condition of horizontal earthquake, this paper is set up two finite-element models which are used different hypothesis- elastic floor hypothesis and rigid floor hypothesis, then compares with the results of two hypothesis. It focuses on the distribution of internal force in frame-supported beams and columns, which influenced by different floor hypothesis. At this point, the rigid floor hypothesis is no longer applied to the shear wall structure of large spaces at low part. Furthermore the shear distribution in transfer floor and its influence to other floors is also discussed. By analyzing of the results, it finds the position of the weakness. As a conclusion, the credibility of this structure is evaluated. Meanwhile, some designing suggestions are touched on to make any possibly significant contribution to structural engineering. The purpose of this paper is to get much more intensive understanding of the shear wall structure of large spaces at low part through analysis and research, to provide a reasonable design guidelines and gives any light to the future study.
