This paper mainly describes the research on graphic collaboration and semantic negotiation in the system of multi-discipline collaborative product design, which helps multi-discipline designer exchange, coordinate and cooperate effectively in different place, and promote innovation of products, shorten development period of products, improve product quality, reduce products cost. This paper describes a system that realizes graphics collaborative browsing and model controlling based on three-layers-organization network and display technology of graphics on web, and also realizes model collaborative modification and collaborative service between disciplines based on the technology of Middle-Ware and secondary development to Pro/Engineer. In the part of semantic negotiation, a kind of negotiation strategy is brought forward and payoff function in the negotiation theory is used to simulate the action of participator, and make a process to the negotiation data with game theory, which brings recommended scheme instructing the negotiation process. The communication between disciplines and the negotiation language are developed based on XML standard, and the message editor is realized with DOM (Document Object Model) technology of the XML parsers—Xerces provided by Apache and java programming. In order to solve the semantic mismatch problem in exchanging, concept of shared ontology is brought forward and OWL(Web Ontology Language)standard is used to construct discipline shared ontology.According to the technology and research method showed above, a system with the function of controlling graphics on web, collaborative browse, collaborative modification and collaborative service is realized. A systemic analysis is made to the negotiation process and the negotiation protocol and negotiation strategy was encoded into computers, which was embedded into the network back-end program and a network negotiation module was generated. Taking clutch and its accessory as the example, every function of this system has been tested. The research work described in this paper has greater theoretical and theoretic meaning to the knowledge resource sharing of discipline and collaborative design work running smoothly.
