As the foundation of the operation and dispatch of the electric power system, data management plays an important role in the relay protection work of the power system. Improving the efficiency of the relay data management is a long-term problem for the electrical engineers.At present, most achievements have been made in this field. Also there are many mature relay protection software running in the power relay protection departments. However, there are some limitations in the present software, such as no unified data model, deferent of data define, lack of support for multi-users, designed as isolated information "islands", hard to maintain and extend. These deficiencies can not meet the requirements of power relay protecton data management. Applying system integration technologies in this paper, the power relay protecton data platform is developed to solve the problems mentioned above. In this paper, data requirements of the power relay protection applying system are analyzed at first.And general framework of the power relay protecton data platform is introduced, and the main idea, function, key technology of this data platform are described detailedly. Secondly, the establishment of standard structure of data is explained, and the design aim of structure, general framework, main characters of standard structure are expatiated. Thirdly, the design of the extend of this data is presented. Finally, the exchange flow of the power relay protecton data based on XML is introduced.
