Piston Auto-sorter Printer (PASP) intruduced in this thesis is a new type of precision instrument based on PC. The given diameters of 3-sections of a piston are measured and certain characters are printed on the top of the piston according to the result of the measurement by PASP instrument. The measuring accuracy is 1.5um,and the PASP is featured by computer control, data acquisition and processing, error compensation, auto-diagnosing and Chinese display.Piston automation detection system is a high precision and high efficiency system. It is applied by displacement sensor, gas-electricity convertor, full-automation closed loop control, high precision orientation fixture, automation typewriting grouping and etc key techniques. On the base of analyzing the technique difficulties of skirt cross section profile, This thesis presents the instrument's principle, specifications and general functions; introduces the mechanical device, measuring circuit, sensor, hardware and software of microcomputer. The instrumental error and method of compensatoing errors are also analyzed, the design validity is validated. With regard to technique of sensor component and measure control system, there are very rich at home and abroad. Moreover the application instances on the detection piston are lack. In allusion to the high precision and repidness time of piston automation detection system, the paper fix on the technique specification of the sensor, A/D convertor andIPC configure; the compensating technique and the calibrating method is put forward for the system precision. At the time of the data collection, numeric control, network framework and the cure of anti - amming is definituded and the computer measuring system of piston automation detection system is set up.On all accounts, the paper describes detailedly the overall design project, the measuring projects, mechanical structure and error analysis of main measuring station. The base of piston automation detection system development is created.
