Turbine-generator unit set is the most important equipment in thermal power plant. The dynamic performances of the space framing foundation which supports the T-G unit have the significant influence to vibration of the entire unit set and it is also one of the major factors to influence the good operation of T-G unit. It is always a major concern for the design of T-G foundations to approach to the target of T-G unit set in good operation.With the increase of the capacity of T-G unit set, the size of T-G foundation is increased correspondently, therefore, the sizes and structural configurations of T-G foundation change significantly. For the complicated dynamic system of large-size T-G unit space framing foundation, because the dynamic performances of T-G unit and the vibration problems of T-G foundation itself are complicated, it is not possible to predict the modes of T-G unit and its foundation very accurately at present. This situation may result in some uncertainty about the design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, and operation of the new type of 600 MW T-G units. Especially, because structural configurations of the foundation for the new type of 600 MW T-G units are distinctive and the adequate design experience is absent, it is necessary to perform further studies on the dynamic characteristics, design principles, structural proportioning, and design methods so as to ensure the design reliability of T-G foundation and the accuracy of the dynamic analysis of T-G foundations.By testing, research, and analysis on the dynamic properties of 1/10 scale RC model of 600 MW large-size T-G unit foundation, this thesis gives the instructions and verifications to the design of new type of 600 MW large-size T-G unit foundations, and further push forward the research work on dynamic properties of large-size T-G unit foundations in order to accumulate some background information for the revision of our nation's Code for Design of Dynamic Machine Foundation.
