Along with the opening of building energy saving work and publication of related energy conservation standard, energy conservation design must be adopted and related calculation must be made for checking whether new town residential buildings reaching to the energy conservation standard. Research of heat loss index is necessary because of the oneness of heat loss index calculation method and some parameter need to be revised. The dissertation primarily resolves the following three problems.(1)Based on the calculation method of heat loss index of 《Energy conservation designstandard for new heating residential buildings》 (JGJ26—95) and of heating design load of《codes for design of heating ventilation & air condition》GBJ19-87,the dissertation establishesthe relations between heat loss index and heating design load of low-story and multistorybuilding. It can be use as a calculation method of heat loss index by engineer.(2)The housing plan has a large change compared with the 1980s' because of development of housing industry and improvement of people living standard, and now heating design temperature has been revised in 《The compulsory provisions of engineering construction standards》 GB 50096-1999.But indoor mean air temperature used in 《Energy conservation design standard for new heating residential buildings》 (JGJ26—95) is based on the 1980s' housing standard. So it has a large difference compared with present condition. The dissertation gives a advisable indoor mean air temperature through the comparison of housing plan and heating design temperature of different time and validates the reliability by DeST-h software in two examples' housing building.(3)The heat storage of building envelope is not considered by steady state calculation method of heat loss index. How much is the influence of heat storage to heat loss index?Setting different material walls to the model, calculating the heat loss index with DeST-h software, giving the quantity class of heat storage of building envelope influencing to heat loss index.
